Xanga.com
Research showed that pedophiles had set up a "pedophile rights" blogring on Xanga and that four pedophiles had taken up a home blogging on Xanga.com. We contacted Xanga.com's press department with this information seeking comment for an article. Less than one hour later the content was deleted quickly and Xanga's CEO wrote a nice note in regards to the issue.

Hello,
I'm the administrator a media/law enforcement advocacy group that is seeking comment on Xanga's allowing organized pedophiles and pedophilia advocates to use their services. I'm continuing to follow-up on a story about corporations that tacitly support pedophiles by allowing them to use services such as your blogs and other website functions.
Specifically I'm seeking comment regarding:
*Links removed*
Three of the individuals listed there are active members of the pedophile advocacy movement and the other is a Xanga blogring supporting pedophile rights.
Specific questions in regards to this media query:
1. Isn't it hypocritical to have teamed up with so-called "child safety" advocates while allowing those who advocate child rape to nest on your servers?
2. Does Xanga not believe that the advocation of pedophilia and the legalization of child/adult sexual contact not fall under the category of promotion of illegal acts against children?
Thank you for your response, it will be helpful to receive comments regarding this matter for the article I am planning regarding your company.

Within one hour we received the following from Xanga.com:
Thanks for bringing these sites to our attention. We have immediately shut them all down.
Xanga has a longstanding policy of shutting down sites associated with pedophilia or child pornography. In addition, when we become aware of any such site, we have reported them through our partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children CyberTipline. In fact, to increase the number of such reports, we have developed a cutting-edge flagging system that allows our members to easily report any underage nudity with a few clicks of the mouse. This system has greatly increased our ability to police the site for inappropriate and/or illegal content.
Again, our thanks to you for reporting this content. If you have any further reports, please let us know right away and we will take action immediately. You can contact either myself or Stephen Kline, our new Chief Safety Officer
